25,000 people marched in Raleigh on May 16th. Now everyone is asking: What’s next? CAPE is working with the May 16th Coalition to facilitate conversations, coordinate strategy, and develop leaders from across North Carolina that participated on the 16th.
Each dollar we get goes into supporting organizing projects and leadership development work so that parents, educators, and students can effectively strategize and organize together to win the schools we all deserve.
CAPE is partnering with Durham Public Schools and the Durham Association of Educators to launch the Bull City Community School Initiative. We have secured funding to hire Community School Coordinators at FOUR of our FIVE target schools in Durham, and are working to secure funds for the fifth. We need your help to ensure each school has adequate support for program-related work related to this project.
We are a grassroots organization of parents, educators, and students. While we receive some grant funding, we rely on our members and supporters to develop and lead campaigns and sustain the organization through small donations.
CAPE is a member of the Southern Vision Alliance, a non-partisan 501(c)3 organization. All donations are tax exempt. CAPE does not engage in partisan political work and does not engage in electoral politics. Donations will be processed through the Southern Vision Alliance via paypal. Thank you for your support!
