Nicholas Graber-Grace serves as our unpaid, volunteer Executive Director. Nicholas co-founded CAPE along with several of our board members when he launched the Parent Teacher Organizing Project in 2014. Nicholas resides in Durham County where he is a parent of two elementary school students and also teaches at Hillside High School.

Evelyn Ponce serves as our Community School Coordinator at EK Powe Elementary School. Evelyn is a Durham Public School and NC State graduate. She is a trained Social Worker with previous experience in Wake County Public Schools and Wake County Human Services. Evelyn has also worked at Lincoln Community Health Center and the Duke Division of Community Health in the past in order to connect uninsured patients with Project Access of Durham County. She works closely with the staff and parents of EK Powe in coordinating its transition into using the Community School Model to bring about data-driven positive change that will enable the school to serve all students in an equitable manner.

Lexus Walker serves as our Community School coordinator at Southwest Elementary school. She works closely with the parent community and staff to increase engagement of black and brown parents and to implement the community school model.
